UNESCO World Heritage Site –  Casco Antiguo

Second site of the City of Panama, dating back to 1673.  Commonly referred to in english as the “Old Town”, or by locals simply as “Casco”.

The word “casco” means helmet, or in the case of a ship it refers to the hull of the ship, “el casco del barco”.  In the context of a settlement it refers to the protected, walled city.

This is the colonial neighborhood with almost 400 years of history, that has been restored, renovated, and vibrant with shops, restaurants, hotels, plazas and beautiful spots, buildings, doorways, and views for photo opportunities.
