Rainforest

We will spend most of the tour inside Soberania National Park. The road to Gamboa will take us through the park, and the village is also inside the park.

Easy Morning

This tour allows for sleeping in a bit. The pickups for this tour start at 9:30 am.

Traditional Lunch

This tour has an addon to include lunch at the Village. Lunch will be Fish, and Plantain Chips served in a cone made with a folded bijao leaf.

The Wounaan

One of the two native cultures to the Darien region, along with their cousin tribe, the Embera. The grandparents of the people we meet on this tour provided Jungle Survival Training for US Military and NASA Astronauts during the mid 20th century.

Most Wounaan are at least bilingual with their native toungue as their first language.

The Crafts

We will see the plants from which the fibers are extracted, materials for the natural dyes and their different weaving styles and techniques. Also the beautiful hardwood and vegetable ivory used in carving practical, decorative and mystical items.

All our tour guides have been certified by Panama’s Tourism Authority. CPR Training, Second Language Certification and a written exam are some of the requisites.

We make stops for lunch in which every person takes care of their own meals. We use many restaurants depending on where we are and any food requirements like Kosher, Halal, Vegan, Vegetarian, etc.
